Prince Philips portrait features on the reverse of the coin, designed by Mark Richards. Queen Elizabeth II’s fourth portrait can be seen on the obverse of the coin, designed by Ian Rank-Broadley.

The 2011 Prince Philip Piedfort Platinum Proof Five Pounds is housed in its original Royal Mint presentation case, with a certificate of authenticity.
Only 90 pieces were issued by the Royal Mint in 2011.
