The 2010 Gold Proof Quarter-Sovereign
Introduced in 2009, the Gold Quarter-Sovereign is the smallest modern legal tender British gold coin. It is a quarter of the weight of the gold sovereign. Minted at The Royal Mint.
The Obverse is the Monarch’s head (Elizabeth II) and the Reverse is Pistrucci’s famous St George and the Dragon.
Mintage was 25,000 but only 14,000 were issued in this special presentation case.
