This is the standard 50p design from 2008 to date. Britannia was replaced by a section of the Royal Arms showing elements of the third and fourth quarterings. When all the circulating coins (1p, 2p, 5p, 10p, 20p and 50p) are put together you can see the full shield (which is also displayed in full on the one pound coin).Reverse was designed by Matthew Dent.
Obverse is the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley.
