2006 Gold Proof Crown Five Pounds - 80th Birthday

The 2006 gold proof crown was issued to commemorate the 80th Birthday of Queen Elizabeth II.

The reverse shows a fanfare of regal trumpets with the inscription 'VIVAT REGINA' and the dates '1926' and '2006', designed by Danuta Solowiej.

The obverse features Queen Elizabeth II's fourth portrait, designed by Ian Rank-Broadley.

The %TITLE% is made of solid 22 carat gold (Gold fineness of 0.916).

Originally housed in an original Royal Mint acrylic screw top capsule, the crown was then presented in its Royal Mint purple velvet presentation case and outer purple card box.

There would have been an individually numbered certificate of authenticity (COA).

The gold crown has a weight of 39.94 grams.

Only 2,750 gold proof crowns were issued by the Royal Mint in 2006.
