The coin is made of solid 22 carat gold (Gold fineness of 0.916).
Originally the 2000 Gold Five Pounds Coin BU would have been housed in its original Royal Mint acrylic screw top capsule. The coin is presented in its Royal Mint green velvet case, accompanied with an individually numbered certificate of authenticity (COA).

The maximum issue for the 2000 Gold Five Pounds Coin was set at 1,000, but on 994 were minted.
