1999 One Pound Coin - Lion Rampant

1999 One Pound Coin. The coin was not released into general circulation as not as many pound coins were required since the introduction of the two-pound coin. The coin is included in year sets.

The Reverse shows a Lion Rampant Lion rampant within a double tressure flory counter-flory, and represents Scotland.

The Obverse is the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley.

The edge inscription is NEMO ME IMPUNE LACESSIT which means 'No one attacks me with impunity'.
