1992 Gold Sovereign Proof

The 1992 Gold Sovereign was only issued in Proof. Less than 7000 were issued.

Benedetto Pistrucci's famous portrayal of St. George slaying the dragon is depicted on the reverse of the coin.

Queen Elizabeth II's third portrait can be seen on the obverse, designed by Raphael Maklouf.

The sovereign is made of solid 22 carat gold (Gold Fineness of 0.916), and weighs 7.98 grams. It has a diameter of 22.05mm.

Originally, the coin was housed in a Royal Mint acrylic screw top capsule, presented in its Royal Mint maroon leatherette case, accompanied with an individually numbered certificate of authenticity (COA).
