1988 One Pound Coin. The reverse, designed by Derek Gorringe, shows the Shield of the Royal Arms representing the United Kingdom.


On the Obverse is the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Raphael Maklouf.

The Edge Inscription is DECUS ET TUTAMEN which means 'An ornament and a safeguard'.

Just over 7 million were minted which is a low number.
