The 1819 Gold Sovereign. With a mintage of only 3,574, this makes this Sovereign one of the rarest - and consequently demands a high price. About 10 are known to exist, but if you'd like one then don't expect much change out of £200,000. There is also a rumour that there was just one proof which is currently lost.
