The 2017 12 sided gold proof quarter sovereign is the first 12 sided gold quarter sovereign to be issued. The coin was released by Hattons of London, and issued for Tristan Da Cunha. Queen Elizabeth II's portrait can be seen on the obverse of the coin, the reverse depicts a 'framed' portrait of the Queen with the words 'Diu Vivere Monarchia' (Translating to 'Long Live Monarchy') The quarter sovereign does not have a legal tender status in the United Kingdom, so cannot be treated as CGT free.
