2020 Queen Gold Proof Two Ounce £200


The first coin to be issued as part of the ‘Rock star’ range by the Royal Mint. This is the first time a British band has featured on a UK coin. Only 53 pieces were minted, the same number of hits Queen had in the UK charts.

The rock band Queen feature on the first of the ‘Rock star’ issue. A design by Chris Facey depicts a number of muscial instruments, with the bank name at the centre. Jody Clarks fifth head portrayal of Queen Elizabeth can be seen on the obverse of the coin.

The £200 piece is made of 24 carat gold (0.999 fine) and weighs 62.2 grams.

The coin comes in its original presentation box, complete with outer card sleeve and certificate of authenticity.

Only 53 pieces were issued by the Royal Mint, sold only to high level members.

The Royal Mint has issued a range of coins with the design, including a gold proof one kilo coin, gold proof one ounce, gold proof quarter ounce, silver proof two ounce, silver proof one ounce and a number of cupro nickel coin packs.
