1935 Raised Edge Proof Crown NGC PF63 Ultra Cameo
£2,750.00
To commemorate the silver jubilee of King George V and Queen Mary, the Royal Mint issued a special one off crown, widely known as the ‘rocking horse’ crown due to the deco reverse design of St George, and the similarities with a toy rocking horse.

Description
The 1935 silver crown was produced in different metals and quality. A standard crown made from .500 fine silver with incuse lettering around the edge was issued for general circulation. The Royal Mint also produced a sterling silver example in proof quality with raised lettering around the rim. Only 2,500 examples were minted, making the coin quite desirable. A gold proof piece was also struck. It is worth noting the Mint issued a number of ‘error edge’ coins, where the lettering around the rim differs slightly.
The 1935 raised edge proof crown for sale has been graded by NGC as PF63 Ultra Cameo.
